🪄 Product description:
A clay cutter designed for cutting mug walls and slab-built ceramic vessels, shaped as a gently tapered panel. This form makes it easier to create mugs with natural proportions – slightly wider at the top and more stable at the base.
The panel is reinforced, which means it stays rigid while working with clay, does not flex or lose its shape, and helps maintain full control during cutting. It is a highly versatile tool – perfect for both batch production and individual, carefully crafted pieces.
📏 Available sizes:
– larger: approx. 25 cm width × 15 cm height
– smaller: approx. 25 cm width × 10 cm height
🫶 Uses:
– classic, functional mugs
– mugs with or without handles
– slab-built vessels
– cups, containers, planters
– test and prototype forms
The tapered shape works especially well for mugs that are comfortable to use and fit nicely in the hand.
🛠️ How to use:
– Roll out the clay to an even thickness
– Place the cutter on the slab and press evenly
– Remove excess clay
– Wrap the panel into a cylinder and join the edges
– Add a base, handle or decoration as desired
💡 Tip:
Best results are achieved on clay in a plastic or slightly leather-hard state.
If the clay sticks, lightly dust the surface with potato starch.
